On the evening of March 18, 2025, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in the 1100 block of Cadillac Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan. When the sounds of the shots faded, 23-year-old Shaughqual Laqia Anderson, a Black/African American male, had been fatally wounded. He was privately transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest, but the injury proved too severe. He was pronounced dead at approximately 11:13 p.m.
