Jaleale Simmons, a 20-year-old Black/African American male, was shot and killed on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in Fall River, Massachusetts. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. inside a third-floor residence at 983 Rodman Street. Responding Fall River Police and EMS personnel found Simmons with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to St.
Anne's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The shooting allegedly followed a physical altercation between Jaleale Simmons and his younger brother. Their mother reportedly intervened, attempting to separate them by pushing Simmons into his bedroom. The suspect, identified as Simmons' 17-year-old brother, Jaylen Anthony Lambert, is said to have left the immediate area for a short time before returning with a firearm equipped with an extended magazine. The argument then resumed, at which point Lambert allegedly shot his brother in the chest.
Following the incident, Lambert was arrested and charged with the murder of his brother. In addition to the murder charge, Lambert also faces charges of Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm and Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card. He was arraigned in Fall River District Court and is being held without bail. Despite his age, Lambert will be tried as an adult, as Massachusetts state law dictates for murder charges against defendants over the age of 16. At his arraignment, Lambert pleaded not guilty to all charges. The case is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, along with the Fall River Police and Homicide Unit prosecutors.
