In the quiet Worthington Park neighborhood of Owings Mills, Maryland, a tragedy unfolded that left the community in shock. On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 1, 2025, police responded to a call for an assault in progress at a home on Avery Hill Drive. Inside, they discovered the bodies of 59-year-old Karen Halle Franklin and her 63-year-old husband, Gary Scott Franklin.
