In the early morning hours of April 2, 2025, the life of 55-year-old Noe Martin of Springfield, Massachusetts, was brought to a violent and tragic end. A man born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Martin was one of two victims in a fatal shooting that shattered the quiet of a home on Hebron Street. The incident, which also claimed the life of 35-year-old Justin Santiago, prompted an intensive investigation by local law enforcement.
Springfield Police officers were dispatched to the residence
at approximately 5:40 a.m. following a report of two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Upon their arrival, they discovered both Noe Martin and Justin Santiago inside the home, each with serious injuries. Emergency services transported both men to Baystate Medical Center, but their wounds proved to be fatal, and both were pronounced deceased. The Springfield Police Homicide Unit, in conjunction with the Hampden District Attorney's Murder Unit, immediately began a thorough investigation into the double homicide.
For months, the case remained under active investigation as authorities worked to piece together the events that transpired on that April morning. Then, in July 2025, a significant breakthrough was announced. A suspect, identified as 34-year-old Bobby Rivera of Springfield, was arrested and charged in connection with the murders of Noe Martin and Justin Santiago.
Investigators revealed that Rivera had initially been taken into custody in May on unrelated carjacking charges. While incarcerated, detectives continued to build their case in the Hebron Street slayings. On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Rivera was formally served with a murder warrant. He is being held without the right to bail and was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 12, 2025, to face the charges brought against him in the deaths of the two men.
