Ricky Surrell, a 20-year-old man, was fatally shot on August 31, 2011, in East Oakland, California. The shooting occurred around 7:20 p.m. on the 2400 block of 77th Avenue, a neighborhood frequently affected by violent incidents. Surrell was struck by multiple gunshots, and unfortunately, he died at the scene. Authorities believe that more than one gunman was involved, but no suspects have been identified or arrested in connection with his death.
