On December 17, 2024, Edward Payne Hagood, a 25-year-old African American man from Thomasville, Georgia, was fatally shot multiple times at approximately 11:53 a.m. The incident occurred at 113 Fern Street, prompting an immediate response from the Thomasville Police Department. Officers arriving at the scene found Mr. Hagood with multiple gunshot wounds and provided emergency aid until Thomas County EMS transported him to Archbold Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
