In the early morning hours of January 19, 2025, the life of 25-year-old Chyon Andre Crabtree, an African American male, was cut short in a fatal shooting on the near northeast side of Indianapolis. Officers were dispatched to a residence on Holloway Avenue just before 3:30 a.m. following a report of an unresponsive person. Upon their arrival, they discovered Crabtree inside the home, having sustained at least one gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
