Death by Force

Tayon Stray, a 23-year-old man from Naperville, Illinois, was fatally shot in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood of Chicago on March 11, 2025. The incident occurred around 2:35 a.m. on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of West 77th Street. Chicago police officers, who were patrolling the area, heard gunfire and discovered Stray lying unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest. Emergency responders transported him to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 4:02 a.m.
