On the evening of February 8, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a tragic shooting occurred in the 600 block of Eastview Circle in Americus, Georgia. Among the victims was 5-year-old African American girl Peyton Brielle Roberts, who was rushed to Phoebe Sumter Hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Also affected were 19-year-old African American male Jotavis Roshon Leverette, who later died from his injuries, and a third individual who sustained non-life-threatening wounds.
