On the evening of March 12, 2025, Juwan Dominique Pore-Lumpkin, a 31-year-old Black male from Chicago's Portage Park neighborhood, was found fatally shot in an alley in the 4900 block of West Hubbard Street in the Austin neighborhood. Chicago police officers responded to the scene around 8:40 p.m. and discovered Pore-Lumpkin with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:55 p.m.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide, and the identity of any suspect or suspects has not been disclosed. The case remains under active investigation by Area 4 detectives.
Pore-Lumpkin's death contributes to the ongoing issue of gun violence in Chicago, particularly affecting young Black males. In 2025, the city has experienced a significant number of homicides, with many victims being young Black men who died as a result of gunshot wounds.
Prior to his death, Pore-Lumpkin had a criminal record; he was arrested on December 24, 2022, by the Chicago Police Department on charges related to cannabis manufacturing and delivery, as well as soliciting unlawful business. He was 29 years old at the time of that arrest.
