Alayna Jai Payne, a 4-year-old girl, was found dead along with her mother and two sisters in Lake Station, Indiana, on February 21, 2025. The Lake County Coroner's Office determined that Alayna, her mother Briana Payne and her sisters Ava and Aurorah died from gunshot wounds in what was ruled a murder-suicide. A man, identified as 31-year-old Robert Payne, also died from a gunshot wound, and his death was classified as suicide.
