On the evening of Thursday, May 1, 2025, the quiet of Mystic, Iowa, was broken by a call to the Appanoose County Sheriff's Office regarding an injured person. Deputies arrived at a residence on 490th Street around 9:14 p.m. to find 75-year-old Stanley Brown, a White / Caucasian male, unresponsive in the yard.
