In the quiet, rural landscape of Mystic, Iowa, a violent encounter on July 15, 2025, ended the life of 36-year-old Destry Walker, a White male. The Appanoose County Sheriff's office received a call about a shooting on 470th Street at approximately 10:32 p.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered both Destry and his 62-year-old father, Randy Walker, with gunshot wounds.
