Jermaine Jordan, a 21-year-old male, was fatally shot on March 17, 2025, in Wildwood, Florida. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. in the area of High Street and County Road 242. Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from an attempted robbery during a drug deal. Officers responding to reports of gunfire discovered multiple victims, including Jordan, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other individuals sustained gunshot wounds—one with life-threatening injuries and another with a wound to the leg.
Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles flee the scene immediately after the shooting. One was described as a white passenger vehicle, while the other was a gray Nissan SUV. Law enforcement later spotted the gray SUV speeding southbound on Interstate 75. Deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle in Webster, where additional victims were found inside. Investigators suspect that two occupants abandoned the vehicle, leaving the injured individuals behind without medical assistance.
Evidence collected from the crime scenes included ski masks, a Glock-style pistol, and spent shell casings. Authorities are actively investigating the case and have urged residents in the area to review any security camera footage that may provide further insights into the incident. The Wildwood Police Department and Sumter County Sheriff’s Office are seeking information from the public to aid in identifying suspects and making arrests.
