In the fall of 2011, the life of 19-year-old James Mun was tragically cut short in Omaha, Nebraska. An African-American male, Mun had come to the United States with his family as a child, seeking refuge from the civil war in South Sudan. On the evening of November 19, 2011, he was with friends in a vacant lot in North Omaha when he was shot in the head.
