Alexis D. Bolivar-Dalis, a 44-year-old man, was tragically killed in a murder-suicide on March 19, 2025, in Valrico, Florida. The incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning at a residence on Drake Elm Terrace. Authorities responded to two 911 calls—one from a woman reporting a disturbance and another from a 12-year-old boy stating that his father had broken into the home. Moments later, gunshots were heard.

Bolivar-Dalis inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds. Outside, they found a vehicle engulfed in flames and a body on fire, later confirmed to be the suspect, 51-year-old Philip E. Cordova. Investigators determined that Cordova, the estranged husband of a woman living in the home, had broken in and fatally shot Bolivar-Dalis before setting himself on fire. The suspect had reportedly sent threatening messages to his estranged wife in the days leading up to the attack, stating that he intended to take his own life and set himself ablaze.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office described the event as a horrifying act of domestic violence, emphasizing the devastating impact on the victim’s loved ones.
