Takeshia Renee Eads, a 42-year-old African American woman from Orlando, Florida, was tragically shot and killed on March 25, 2025, in what authorities have described as a domestic-related incident. The shooting occurred in the 5200 block of West Livingston Street in Orlo Vista, a neighborhood just west of Orlando. Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 3:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered Takeshia Eads suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Law enforcement officials quickly identified the suspect as her husband, 41-year-old Lamar Antonio Bryant. According to investigators, Takeshia Eads had recently filed for divorce from Bryant, a decision that allegedly led to the fatal confrontation. Reports indicate that Bryant had picked up one of their daughters from school earlier that day, stopping at a liquor store and a storage unit before returning home. The daughter later informed authorities that Bryant had retrieved firearms from the storage unit and placed them in the car’s center console. Upon arriving at their residence, Takeshia Eads was standing outside. She and Bryant entered the home together, and moments later, gunshots rang out.
Following the shooting, Bryant fled the scene but was apprehended the next morning. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Family members and friends of Takeshia Eads have expressed deep sorrow over her death, describing her as a devoted mother of four and grandmother of five. She was known for her strong faith, dedication to her church, and commitment to her family. Her oldest daughter, Cordeja Paige, spoke publicly about her mother’s kindness and selflessness, emphasizing her unwavering support for loved ones. Paige also urged individuals experiencing domestic violence to seek help, warning that abusive situations rarely improve.
