On a spring evening in Indianapolis, Indiana, the life of 24-year-old Makylah Jean Brent was tragically cut short. On May 14, 2025, in the parking lot of an event center on Massachusetts Avenue, a disturbance escalated into fatal violence. Responding to reports of the altercation, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived to find Makylah suffering from gunshot wounds.
