On April 10, 2025, Michael Lee Williams, a 35-year-old African American male from Barstow, California, was found deceased alongside his 14-year-old son, Jayce Aden Williams, in a drainage wash near Pershing Drive and Montrose Way in Adelanto. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded to a "man down" call at approximately 6:15 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered both individuals suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced them dead at the scene.
