In the spring of 2025, a burst of violence shattered the peace of an east Phoenix neighborhood, claiming the life of 19-year-old David Taylor. On the evening of April 2nd, police responded to calls of trouble near 30th Street and Indian School Road. Arriving at the scene just before 9:45 p.m., officers discovered Taylor lying injured in the roadway.
Emergency responders rushed the young man to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe.
David Taylor, a male, died the following day, April 3, 2025. The cause of his death was a gunshot wound.
In the wake of the shooting, Phoenix police detectives began an investigation into the homicide. Authorities reported that the individual or individuals responsible for the shooting had fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. As of the days following the incident, no arrests had been made, and police had not released any information about a potential suspect or suspects.
