Death by Force

In the early hours of April 27, 2025, a sense of unease settled over downtown Phoenix as police responded to reports of a shooting. Near the intersection of 700 North 1st Street, officers discovered a male victim who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. The man, identified as 26-year-old Jiehiason Lane, was alive but in critical condition. Emergency services rushed him to a nearby hospital, but despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
