On the evening of Thursday, February 27, 2025, a life was tragically cut short in Mobile, Alabama. Orlando Demetrius Smoots Jr., a 24-year-old male, was involved in a fatal incident that would lead to a swift arrest. The events unfolded at approximately 6:18 p.m. in the 6300 block of Cherry Ridge Court West, where Mobile Police officers were dispatched following a report of a person shot.
