On June 10, 1993, Franklin Stanton, a 48-year-old man, was found dead in his vehicle in Springfield, Missouri. Stanton, who worked as a newspaper carrier for the Springfield News-Leader, was discovered by an off-duty police officer around 4:30 a.m. His maroon 1985 Toyota pickup truck was parked on the side of the road in the 1300 block of East Republic Road.
