On May 20, 1978, Helen Marie Alderson Hall, a 60-year-old white woman, was discovered dead in her home in St. Petersburg, Florida. Her body was found by her son, Richard, in her bedroom. Authorities determined that she had been bludgeoned to death with an unidentified object.
