On the cold morning of March 14, 1980, the community of Saddle River, New Jersey, was rocked by a brutal crime. Peter Calabro, a 36-year-old former New York City police officer, was found shot to death in his car. As he was returning home around 2:00 AM, an assailant ambushed him, firing a shotgun and ending his life. A snowplow crew discovered his body slumped behind the wheel of his station wagon off West Saddle River Road.
