Deborah Sheppard, a 23-year-old woman, was a marketing major at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. She was just two weeks away from graduating when she was tragically murdered on April 8, 1982. Her body was discovered in her apartment by a friend, and authorities later determined that she had been sexually assaulted and strangled to death.
