Keeshanna Jackson, an 18-year-old African American female, tragically lost her life on August 22, 2021, in Carbondale, Illinois. Keeshanna was a freshman at Southern Illinois University, having just arrived on campus a week prior with aspirations to expand her nail business. Her promising future was cut short during a shooting at an off-campus party on West Cherry Street.
