Diane Helms, a 44-year-old Black woman, was one of four victims in a series of brutal murders committed by Francisco del Junco in Miami, Florida. Del Junco, a Cuban immigrant who arrived in the United States during the Mariel boatlift in 1980, was convicted of killing and setting fire to four women between August 1995 and March 1996.
