Michelle Coleman, a 21-year-old student from Florida A&M University, was killed on July 6, 2009, during a mass shooting at a party in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood. At around 12:45 a.m., three armed men dressed in black opened fire on a crowd, injuring 12 people. Coleman was the first to succumb to her injuries from the attack, passing away the following day.
