Ray Burgess, 51, male, set out on a deer-hunting outing the evening of November 1, 1952, and was last seen sharing drinks with his companion, Victor “Bunk” Travis, at a bar in Plainfield, Wisconsin. The pair left together and vanished along with their car. Despite an extensive search of the fields and woods around Plainfield, no trace of either man or the vehicle was found, and Burgess was thereafter recorded as deceased on that date.
