Gianni Versace, an Italian fashion designer and businessman, was tragically murdered on July 15, 1997, outside his Miami Beach mansion, Casa Casuarina. At the time of his death, Versace was 50 years old, male, and of Italian ethnicity. He was shot twice in the back of the head at point-blank range by Andrew Cunanan, a 27-year-old American serial killer. The attack occurred as Versace returned home from a morning trip to a nearby café.
