On November 13, 1972, Mark Wilson, an 11-year-old boy, was reported missing alongside his friend, 11-year-old Todd Payton, in North Miami Beach, Florida. The two boys were last seen hitchhiking together, a common practice among youths at the time. Their sudden disappearance left their families and the community in deep anguish, prompting extensive search efforts that, unfortunately, yielded no immediate results.​
