Joan Mae Rogers, a 36-year-old white woman, tragically lost her life on June 1, 1989, in a horrifying incident that also claimed the lives of her two daughters, Michelle, aged 17, and Christe, aged 14. The family, originally from Ohio, had embarked on a vacation to Florida, marking their first trip outside their home state.
