Shaconda Thomas, a 32-year-old African-American woman, tragically lost her life in August 2004. Her death was linked to Larry Dean Bright, a serial killer who targeted African-American women in Peoria and Tazewell Counties, Illinois. Bright, who confessed to killing multiple women between 2003 and 2004, admitted to murdering Shaconda Thomas during his spree.
