Tracy Zan Powers, a 20-year-old white female, was tragically murdered on May 16, 1983. On that fateful day, Danny Paul Bible, known as "The Ice Pick Killer," broke into the apartment of 21-year-old Pamela Kay Hudgins in Weatherford, Texas. Unbeknownst to Bible, Tracy Zan Powers was visiting Hudgins with her 4-month-old son, Justin. Bible proceeded to bludgeon all three victims to death.
He then placed their bodies in the trunk of his car and drove to Mineral Wells, where he discarded the bodies in different locations.
Following the murders, Bible fled Texas, abandoning his wife's car at an airport in Midland. His whereabouts for the next few months remained unknown. However, on December 2, 1983, he was in Belgrade, Montana, where he committed further crimes. Bible was eventually apprehended and confessed to the murders of Tracy Zan Powers, Pamela Kay Hudgins, and Justin Powers, along with other crimes.
Bible's criminal activities spanned multiple states, including Texas, Montana, and Louisiana. He was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death. Despite his attorneys' efforts to appeal his death sentence, Bible was executed via lethal injection on June 27, 2018. His execution marked the end of a long and violent criminal career that left numerous victims and their families devastated.
