Pamela Kay Hudgins, a 21-year-old woman, was tragically murdered on May 16, 1983, in Weatherford, Texas. She was a relative of Danny Paul Bible's wife. Bible, known as "The Ice Pick Killer," broke into Hudgins' apartment, unaware that she was being visited by her friend, 20-year-old Tracy Zan Powers, who had brought her 4-month-old son, Justin. Bible proceeded to bludgeon all three of them to death.
He then placed their bodies in the trunk of his car and drove to the nearby town of Mineral Wells, where he discarded the bodies in different locations.
Following the murders, Bible fled Texas, abandoning his wife's car at an airport in Midland. His exact movements for the next few months remain unknown. Bible was eventually apprehended in December 1983 in Belgrade, Montana, after committing another series of crimes. He was convicted of multiple murders, including those of Pamela Kay Hudgins, Tracy Zan Powers, and Justin Powers.
Bible's criminal activities spanned several states, including Texas, Montana, and Louisiana. He was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for one murder and never charged with two others. After being paroled early, he committed multiple sexual assaults across Montana, Texas, and Louisiana. Following his final arrest, he confessed to a rape-murder in 1979 and to the two other murders he was never tried for. Bible was executed in 2018 after failing to appeal his death sentence.
