Inez Deaton, a 20-year-old woman, was brutally murdered on May 27, 1979. Her body was discovered in a field near a deserted car wash in Harris County, Texas. Inez, who was of Caucasian ethnicity, had been raped and repeatedly stabbed with an ice pick. Her partially-clothed body was found on the north slope of Greens Bayou at Homestead. The murder went unsolved for nearly two decades until a breakthrough in 1998.
