Wendy Jordan, a 39-year-old woman, was found dead on January 2, 2000, in the Rouge River in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Her body was discovered by John Eric Armstrong, who reported finding her while he was attempting to vomit in the river. Initially, Armstrong was not arrested, but further investigation revealed that Wendy Jordan had been strangled. An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as strangulation, and a rape kit was performed to gather DNA evidence.
