William Cluff Schultz, a 31-year-old male police officer with the Paris Police Department in Texas, tragically died on February 21, 1904. His death was the result of a gunshot wound he sustained when his own pistol accidentally discharged and struck him in the body. Despite medical efforts, the bullet could not be removed, and Officer Schultz succumbed to his injuries two weeks later on March 6, 1904.
