Marshal James Edgar Williams, a 30-year-old white male, met a tragic end on December 20, 1909, in Rosebud, Texas. He was serving as the City Marshal of Rosebud and was also the elected constable of Falls County Precinct 7. On the fateful day, Marshal Williams attempted to arrest a suspect who had committed a minor offense.
