Almer Loin Terry, a 44-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, served as a Deputy Sheriff for the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Office in Texas. On April 1, 1927, Terry and his colleague, Deputy Daniel Kenyon, responded to a tip about a bank robbery planned by the notorious "Cotton Top Walker Gang". As they arrived at the scene, they were ambushed and shot by gang members who had just robbed the bank. Both Terry and Kenyon were killed in the gunfire.
