Billy M. Moore, a 50-year-old corrections employee with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Correctional Institutions Division, tragically lost his life on April 4, 1981, in Huntsville, Texas. He and Warden Wallace Pack were shot and killed by a prisoner at the Ellis I Unit. The suspect, Eroy Brown, was able to gain control of one of the officers' pistols during the incident.
