Enrique L. Carrisalez, a 25-year-old Hispanic male, was a patrolman with the Los Fresnos Police Department in Texas. On September 29, 1981, Patrolman Carrisalez was shot and killed after stopping a vehicle for speeding at the intersection of Texas 100 and FM 1847. As he exited his vehicle, the driver of the other vehicle also exited and opened fire on Patrolman Carrisalez. Despite returning fire, Patrolman Carrisalez did not strike the subject.
