Daryl W. Shirley

Detective Daryl Wayne Shirley, aged 34, was a dedicated officer with the Houston Police Department. On April 28, 1982, Detective Shirley was shot and killed while attempting to serve an arrest warrant at an apartment complex on Rolido Drive. The suspect, a 23-year-old man, resisted arrest and a struggle ensued. During the altercation, the suspect managed to shoot Detective Shirley. Shirley's body was later found hidden under a canopy in a parking garage.
