Jimmy Don Beets, a 46-year-old man from Henderson, Texas, was murdered on August 6, 1983. His wife, Betty Lou Beets, was later convicted of his murder. Jimmy Don Beets was a fire department captain, and his body was found buried in a mock wishing well in the front yard of his home. Betty Lou Beets, who had a history of troubled marriages and criminal behavior, was executed in Texas in 2000 for his murder.
