Johnnie Allbritton, a 65-year-old well-liked rancher and store owner in Leon County, Texas, was brutally shot to death in his home on May 14, 1984. Initially, the case was presumed to be an interrupted burglary gone wrong, as Johnnie was found shot five times with his own shotgun, and the house appeared ransacked. However, nothing of significant value was taken, and the scene seemed staged.
