Chief Deputy Sheriff Ken Norris Meister, aged 45, was fatally shot on April 20, 1991, during a drug sting operation in Lytle, Texas. Meister, who served with the Zavala County Sheriff's Office, was ambushed along with another deputy by three suspects at the scene.
