Detective Donald James Manning, a 28-year-old male, was tragically killed on June 26, 1993, in Fort Worth, Texas. Manning, who served with the Fort Worth Police Department for six years, was off-duty at the time of his death. He and a female friend were approached by five gang members at Oakland Lake Park. The gang members attempted to rob them, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Manning drew his gun in self-defense but was wounded during the confrontation. He was transported to a local hospital ...
