Susan Kimberly Kim Jones, a 23-year-old woman, tragically lost her life on September 15, 1999, during a shooting at Wedgwood Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. The incident occurred during a "See You at the Pole" rally, which was a gathering of students for prayer. The shooter, a 14-year-old boy named Larry Gene Ashbrook, opened fire, killing seven people, including Kim Jones, and wounding seven others.
