Charles Edwin Overfield, a 39-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was found dead of gunshot wounds on Interstate 20, about three miles east of the Texas state line in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, on March 9, 1972. Overfield was a witness to a burglary at the National Guard Armory in Shreveport, which led to his execution-style murder.
